This selected bibliography of printed materials is designed
to serve as an introduction to Thomas Gray studies. It is by no means
exhaustive and focuses rather closely on studies directly related to the man
and his works. This bibliography is mainly intended to acquaint the reader
with some of the more important primary and secondary sources of the life and
works of Thomas Gray. The
489
items currently listed are
organised by sort of publication and arranged alphabetically by authors' or
editors' last names. Readers are also referred to the two important
bibliographies by [NoC_1917] C. S. Northup
(available
in full-text) and [StH_1953] H. W.
Starr (available
in full-text), which contain almost everything that has been published on
Gray from his lifetime till 1951. The reader should also consult the list of
links to related online resources for more
information on online materials. Please send suggestions, corrections, and
additions to the editor.
